A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the ground service network is energized
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position at access door 824.
   (3) Make sure that access door 824 is open.

4. Procedure
Subtask 46-26-32-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the FOMAX
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors (2).
   (4) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
   (5) Install the FOMAX (1) on its rack (3).
   (6) Push the FOMAX (1) on its rack (3) to connect the electrical connectors (2).
   (7) Engage the nut (4) on the lugs (5).
   (8) Tighten the nut (4).
   (9) If you replace the FOMAX Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), do as follows unless the troubleshooting task tells you not to remove the Airbus Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card:
     (a) Remove the Airbus SIM card from the new FOMAX (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-000-803).
     (b) Install the Airbus SIM card (kept from the replaced LRU) into the new LRU (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-400-803). Make sure that you put the Airbus SIM card in the same slot as the one in the replaced LRU.
   (10) If you replace the FOMAX LRU, install the Airline SIM card(s) (kept from the replaced LRU) into the new LRU (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-400-802). Make sure that you put the Airline SIM card(s) in the same slot(s) as the one(s) in the replaced LRU.
   (11) If there is no FOMAX installed in the aircraft, install the Airline SIM card(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-400-802).

B. Check of the FOMAX Start
   (1) Get access to the FOMAX LEDs (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-860-804).
   (2) Do a check of the LEDs on the FOMAX front face.
ACTION
RESULT
1.Close circuit breaker 67TA.
On the FOMAX front face:
  • The green LED is on and the amber LED flashes.
  • Then, in less than 60 seconds, the amber LED goes off.

C. Upload the FOMAX software (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-610-801).

D. If you replace the FOMAX and if the Airline-network-file management-service configuration in the new LRU is the same as in the removed LRU:
   (1) Restore the Airline-network-file management-service data in the new LRU (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-280-803).

E. If you replace the FOMAX and if the Airbus link operates before you remove the FOMAX:
   (1) Contact Airbus to start the Airbus link (with a key) again.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close access door 824.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
