B. Get access to the avionics compartment.
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at access door 824 in zone 128.
(2) Open access door 824.

C. Installation of the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER (PDL) in the Avionics Compartment

FOMAX Maintenance Plug 180VC on 80VU ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) On the PDL, make sure that the ON/OFF switch is set to OFF.
(2) Remove the blanking cap from the FOMAX 615A data loader connector (1) (180VC) on electronics rack 80VU.
(3) Connect the PDL cable to the FOMAX 615A data loader connector (1) (180VC).

A. Uploading of the FOMAX Software with the PDL

NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature-check function, two messages can come into view:

One message, if the PDL finds that the software is not signed (refer to the PDL user guide). You can ignore this message that has no effect on the aircraft software uploading.
One message, if the PDL finds an incorrect signature (refer to the PDL user guide). The software uploading will not be possible and it will be necessary for you to use a different software.
Because of a possible effect on the data security, Airbus recommends that you send a report of the fault to the Aircraft-Security Focal Point.

(1) Upload all the software components that follow in this sequence and one after the other (refer to the PDL user guide):

FOMAX CORE software (64TASW1)
FOMAX CONFIGURATION DATA software (64TASW2)
A/L FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW3)
AIRBUS FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW4).

NOTE: You can upload these last three software components independently if the FOMAX CORE software is uploaded.

NOTE: The FOMAX is operational only when all the four software components are uploaded.

NOTE: After each software installation, the FOMAX reboots automatically.

NOTE: The uploading of the FOMAX CORE software erases the three software components related to the FOMAX CONFIGURATION DATA and the FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA.
It is necessary to upload the FOMAX CONFIGURATION DATA software (64TASW2), the A/L FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW3) and the AIRBUS FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW4) again.

(1) In the avionics compartment:
(a) Disconnect the cable from the ALT45200001 PORTABLE DATA LOADER and from the FOMAX 615A data loader connector (1) (180VC).
(b) Put the blanking cap on the FOMAX 615A data loader connector (1) (180VC).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the access door 824.
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
