E. Do a check of the FOMAX configuration (Ref. AMM TASK 46-26-32-280-801).
4. Procedure
Subtask 46-26-32-970-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Uploading of the FOMAX Software with the Portable Data Loader (PDL)
NOTE: If the PDL has the digital signature check, it can send two messages:
  • One message if the PDL detects that the software has no signature. You can ignore this message, it has no effect on the aircraft software uploading.
  • One message if the PDL detects an incorrect signature. If this occurs, the software uploading is not possible and you must use a different software.
Because of data security, Airbus recommends that you send a report of the fault to the Aircraft Security Focal-Point.
ACTION
RESULT
1.Make sure that you have all the necessary media disks to do the uploading.

2.On center pedestal 11VU, on the Data Loading Selector Unit (DLSU):
  • Set the ON/OFF switch to ON.
On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view:
  • DB/N:XXXXXXXXXX DLSU.
    Default value: '----------'.
NOTE: The XXXXXXXXXX indication is the Part Number (PN) of the database software installed in the DLSU.
Default value:'----------'.
3.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU:
  • Push the NEXT key.
The DLSU does self-tests.
4.Make sure that no error message comes into view.
On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view:
  • STANDBY
    PUSH PREV/NEXT.
5.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU:
  • Push the PREV or NEXT key until you get the FOMAX(64TA) indication.
On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view:
  • FOMAX(64TA)
    NOT SELECTED.
6.On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU:
  • Push the SEL key.
On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view:
  • FOMAX(64TA)
    SELECTED.
NOTE: If no PDL is connected, the indication that follows comes into view:
CONNECT PDL
PUSH SEL.
7.On the PDL:
  • Start the uploading of all the software components that follow in this sequence and one after the other (for more information, refer to the PDL user guide):
  • FOMAX CORE software (64TASW1)
  • FOMAX CONFIGURATION DATA software (64TASW2)
  • A/L FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW3)
  • AIRBUS FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW4).
NOTE: You can upload these last three software components independently if the FOMAX CORE software is uploaded.
NOTE: The FOMAX can operate only when all the four software components are uploaded.
NOTE: After each software installation, the FOMAX reboots automatically.
NOTE: The uploading of the FOMAX CORE software erases the three software components related to the FOMAX CONFIGURATION DATA and the FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA. If this occurs, it is necessary to upload the FOMAX CONFIGURATION DATA software (64TASW2), the A/L FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW3) and the AIRBUS FOMAX CUSTOMIZATION DATA software (64TASW4) again.

8.When the uploading is completed, on center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU:
  • Push the SEL key.
On the display of the DLSU, the indication that follows comes into view:
  • FOMAX(64TA)
    NOT SELECTED.

   (2) On the PDL, the Functional Item Numbers (FIN) and the PNs of the FOMAX hardware and FOMAX software come into view.
   (3) Make sure that the PNs shown on the PDL are the same as the PNs that you recorded.
   (4) On center pedestal 11VU, on the DLSU, set the ON/OFF switch to OFF.
