Deactivation of the Pack Flow-Control Valve
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT AIR IS NOT SUPPLIED TO THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM FROM THE MAIN ENGINE, THE APU OR A GROUND SOURCE.
HOT COMPRESSED AIR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL.
NOTE: The procedure is the same for the pack flow-control valve 8HB and 11HB.

B. Get Access
(1) Remove the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002):
(a) FOR [8HB] (P2 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(b) FOR [11HB] (P1 FLOW CTL VALVE)

(a) FOR [8HB] (P2 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(b) FOR [11HB] (P1 FLOW CTL VALVE)
C. Safety Precautions
(1) On the panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that:
(2) On the HP ground connector put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
4. Procedure(1) On the panel 30VU:
(a) Make sure that:
- the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is in the off position (the ON legend is off) and,
- the ENG 1 BLEED and the ENG 2 BLEED pushbutton switches are in the off position (the OFF legends are on).
(2) On the HP ground connector put a warning notice in position to tell persons not to supply the ground air.
Subtask 21-51-00-040-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Deactivation of the Pack Flow-Control Valve
(a) Push the PACK 1 pushbutton switch to the off position (the OFF legend comes on).
(2) FOR [8HB] (P2 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(a) Push the PACK 2 pushbutton switch to the off position (the OFF legend comes on).
(3) Remove and discard the lockwire from the special screw (1).
(4) Remove the special screw (1) from the position (A).
(5) Disconnect the quick release connector (3).

(8) Connect the quick release connector (3) to the connection (4).
5. Close-upWARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH THE COMPONENT UNTIL IT IS SUFFICIENTLY
COOL TO PREVENT BURNS.
(1) FOR [11HB] (P1 FLOW CTL VALVE)(a) Push the PACK 1 pushbutton switch to the off position (the OFF legend comes on).
(2) FOR [8HB] (P2 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(a) Push the PACK 2 pushbutton switch to the off position (the OFF legend comes on).
(3) Remove and discard the lockwire from the special screw (1).
(4) Remove the special screw (1) from the position (A).
(5) Disconnect the quick release connector (3).
NOTE: This will open the pack flow-control valve and close the butterfly valve.
(6) Make sure that the valve indicator (2) is in the closed position. WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(7) Install the special screw (1) in the position (B) and safety with dia. (8) Connect the quick release connector (3) to the connection (4).
Subtask 21-51-00-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002) :
(a) FOR [8HB] (P2 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(b) FOR [11HB] (P1 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Record the deactivation of the pack flow-control valve in the aircraft technical log book.
Subtask 21-51-00-862-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002) :
(a) FOR [8HB] (P2 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(b) FOR [11HB] (P1 FLOW CTL VALVE)
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Record the deactivation of the pack flow-control valve in the aircraft technical log book.
