   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the slat/flap control lever.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the slat/flap system.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable outboard flap at zone 533 (633).
   (2) Remove the applicable outboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-000-001).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the applicable outboard flap at zone 533 (633).
   (2) Remove the applicable outboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-000-002).
4. Procedure
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
Subtask 57-53-21-020-050-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Flap Attachment Bearing
   (1) For track 3, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Release the lockwasher (7).
     (b) Use the 98D57004050000 SPANNER FLAP TRACK 2 AND 3 BEARING to remove the locknut (6). Discard the locknut (6).
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwasher (7).
     (d) Release the tab-washer (2) and remove the screw (1).
     (e) Remove and discard the tab-washer (2).
     (f) Remove the locking device (3).
     (g) Remove and discard the spherical bearing (4).
   (2) For track 4, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Release the lockwasher (10).
     (b) Use the 98D57004034000 REM-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING to remove the locknut (9). Discard the locknut (9).
NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for track 4.
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwasher (10).
     (d) Release the tab-washer (14) and remove the screw (13).
     (e) Remove and discard the tab-washer (14).
     (f) Remove the locking device (12).
     (g) Remove and discard the spherical bearing (11).
Subtask 57-53-21-020-050-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Flap Attachment Bearing.
   (1) For track 3, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Release the lockwasher (6).
     (b) Use the 98D57004050000 SPANNER FLAP TRACK 2 AND 3 BEARING to remove the locknut (7).
NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for track 3.
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwasher (6).
     (d) Remove the nut (8).
     (e) Remove the bolt (1), the washer (2) and the rotation-lock (3).
     (f) Remove the spherical bearing (4) from the structure (5).
   (2) For track 4, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Release the lockwasher (14).
     (b) Use the 98D57004034000 REM-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING to remove the locknut (15).
NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for track 4.
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwasher (14).
     (d) Remove the nut (16).
     (e) Remove the bolt (9), the washer (10) and the rotation-lock (11).
     (f) Remove the spherical bearing (12) from the structure (13).
Subtask 57-53-21-020-050-E ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Flap Attachment Bearing.
   (1) For track 3, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Release the lockwasher (6).
     (b) Use the 98D57004050000 SPANNER FLAP TRACK 2 AND 3 BEARING to remove the locknut (7).
NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for track 3.
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwasher (6).
     (d) Remove the nut (8).
     (e) Remove the bolt (1), the washer (2) and the rotation-lock (3).
     (f) Remove the spherical bearing (4) from the structure (5).
   (2) For track 4, do the steps that follow:
     (a) Release the lockwasher (14).
     (b) Use the 98D57004034000 REM-INST. TOOL - FLAP BEARING to remove the locknut (15).
NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for track 4.
     (c) Remove and discard the lockwasher (14).
     (d) Remove the nut (16).
     (e) Remove the bolt (9), the washer (10) and the rotation-lock (11).
     (f) Remove the spherical bearing (12) from the structure (13).
