WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
Subtask 57-53-11-865-050-A WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008). (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
C. Make sure that this(these) circuit breaker(s) is(are) open, safetied and tagged:

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable outboard flap, zone 587(687).
(2) Remove the No.3 flap track fairing and the No.4 flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001).
Subtask 57-53-11-010-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable outboard flap, zone 587(687).
(2) Remove the No.3 flap track fairing and the No.4 flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001).
D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable outboard flap, zone 587(687).
(2) Remove the No.3 flap track fairing and the No.4 flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) below the applicable outboard flap, zone 587(687).
(2) Remove the No.3 flap track fairing and the No.4 flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004).
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
Subtask 57-53-11-110-050-A - DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
A. Cleaning Procedure
(4) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to dry the flap and fairing surfaces.
(5) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the flap and the fairing surfaces.
Clean a small area at a time. Apply the cleaning agent to the cloth (and not the cloth to the cleaning agent). This prevents contamination of the cleaning agent.
(6) Replace the cloth frequently to make sure that contamination is not put back on to the surfaces.
(7) Clean the recesses and the edges with the BRUSH - WASHING and the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(8) Do the procedure again until the areas are clean.
(9) Flush the surfaces with clean water.
(10) Dry the surfaces with the clean lint-free cloths.
Subtask 57-53-11-370-050-A WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
(1) Use a BRUSH - BRISTLED, SOFT to remove loose particles. - FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH PRESSURE WITH YOUR HAND OR YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PAINT.
(2) Use Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) to remove heavy contamination. NOTE: Make sure that unwanted material does not go into the flap track areas.
(3) Use clean water to remove the Aqueous Cleaner-Aircraft Exterior Pressure Spraying - (Material No.08ABC1) . (4) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to dry the flap and fairing surfaces.
(5) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the flap and the fairing surfaces.

(1) Examine the paint finish for indications of damage.
(2) If necessary, repair minor damage to the paint top coat, when the primer coat is not damaged (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-12-300-003).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the No.3 flap track fairing and the No.4 flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001).

D. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the safety barriers.
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
