A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU) to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on the panel 114VU.

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the flap track 4 at zone 533(633).
   (2) Remove the access panel 533AT ( 633AT) and the flap track 4 fairing 533CB ( 633CB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004).
   (3) Remove the access panel 587BB ( 687BB) in the bottom skin at track 4.
   (4) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.

E. Preparation for Inspection
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.
   (2) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean internally and externally:
  • the pendulum support
  • the internal support fitting.
   (3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-53-00-280-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Special Detailed Inspection (Endoscope) of Outboard Double-Slotted Flap, Internal Support Fitting at Track 4, Including Pendulum Support, Drive Bracket and Attachment Structure, Internal and External, LH/RH
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection NTM 575333, internally and externally of:
  • the internal support fitting at track 4
  • the pendulum support
  • the drive bracket
  • the attachment structure.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575300 for the correct repair procedure. If the defect is not included in this repair, you must request a procedure from AIRBUS.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-53-00-410-079-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.
   (2) Install the access panel 587BB ( 687BB).
   (3) Install the flap track 4 fairing 533CB ( 633CB) and access panel 533AT ( 633AT) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004).
   (4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
   (5) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):
