WARNING:

- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) ON THE INSPECTION AREA. IF YOU APPLY TPS ON THE INSPECTION AREA, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU) to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 57-53-00-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU) to tell persons not to operate the flaps.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on the panel 114VU.
Subtask 57-53-00-865-109-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008). (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on the panel 114VU.

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the inboard rib of the outboard flap at zone 587(687).
(2) Remove the flap kink-seals (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
(3) Remove and discard the covers from the inspection holes on the inboard rib.
(4) Make sure that the applicable inspection holes are clear of unwanted material.
(5) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.
Subtask 57-53-00-110-071-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the inboard rib of the outboard flap at zone 587(687).
(2) Remove the flap kink-seals (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
(3) Remove and discard the covers from the inspection holes on the inboard rib.
(4) Make sure that the applicable inspection holes are clear of unwanted material.
(5) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.
E. Preparation for inspection
(2) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the inspection holes.
(3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. ProcedureCAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area. - DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(2) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the inspection holes.
(3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
Subtask 57-53-00-280-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection, internally and externally of:
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for damage types, classification and corrective action.
5. Close-up(1) Do a special detailed inspection, internally and externally of:
- The inboard rib (the interconnection-strut attachment bracket of the outboard double-slotted flap included)
- The lever
- The roller.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for damage types, classification and corrective action.
Subtask 57-53-00-410-074-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.
(2) Use Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) , cut to the correct dimensions, to make new covers for the inspection holes.
(3) Install the new covers on the inspection holes.
(4) Install the flap kink-seals (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-400-006).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
Subtask 57-53-00-865-110-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.

(3) Remove the warning notice(s).
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
