WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) Make sure 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU).
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
Subtask 57-53-00-865-141-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008). (2) Make sure 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU).
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
C. Open, safety and tag this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(2) If necessary, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

A. Inspection
(1) Do a general visual inspection of the upper and lower skin external surface of the outboard double-slotted flap, including the tab, LH/RH.
(2) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for damage types, classification and corrective action.
(c) Paint layer damage:
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512300) for general data for paint layers.
5. Close-up(1) Do a general visual inspection of the upper and lower skin external surface of the outboard double-slotted flap, including the tab, LH/RH.
(2) Make sure that there is no:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
