A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU) to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on the panel 114VU.

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the flap track 3 at zone 532(632).
   (2) Remove the applicable flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004):
   (3) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the drive linkage and drive fitting.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of Outboard Double Slotted Flap, Drive Linkage and Drive Fitting at Track 3, LH/RH
   (1) Do an inspection of the drive linkage and the drive fitting. Make sure that:
  • there is no damage
  • there is no corrosion
  • there are no cracks or scores
  • the drive linkage and the drive fitting are correctly installed
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575300 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.
   (2) Install the applicable flap track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004):
