(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.

Outboard-Flap Link-Arm and Fairing Operating-Arm - Track 4 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing trailing edge at flap track 4, zone 533 (633).
(2) Remove the flap track 4 fairing panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001):

for the left wing, remove 533AT 533CB
for the right wing, remove 633AT 633CB.

(3) Remove the outboard flap leading edge panel 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-000-003).
(4) Remove and discard the cover(s) from the applicable inspection hole(s) on the front spar.
(5) Make sure that the applicable inspection hole is clear of unwanted material.

D. Get Access

Outboard-Flap Link-Arm and Fairing Operating-Arm - Track 4 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

for the left wing, remove 533AT 533CB
for the right wing, remove 633AT 633CB.

(3) Remove and discard the cover(s) from the applicable inspection hole(s) on the front spar.
(4) Make sure that the applicable inspection hole is clear of unwanted material.

4. Procedure

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:

DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:

the flap link arm
the flap fairing operating arm.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outboard Flap, Drive Linkage and Drive Fitting at Track 4, LH/RH
(1) Examine the flap link-arm and the fairing operating-arm. Make sure that:

there is no corrosion or damage
there are no cracks
the surface protection is in the correct condition.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575300 for the correct repair procedure.

(2) Fully retract the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).

(1) Use Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) cut to the correct dimensions, to make a new cover(s) for the applicable inspection hole(s).
(2) Install the new cover(s) on the applicable inspection hole(s).
(3) Install the leading edge panel 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-62-400-003).
(4) Install the flap track 4 fairing panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001):

for the left wing, install 533AT 533CB
for the right wing, install 633AT 633CB.

C. Close Access
(1) Use Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) cut to the correct dimensions, to make a new cover(s) for the applicable inspection hole(s).
(2) Install the new cover(s) on the applicable inspection hole(s).
(3) Install the flap track 4 fairing panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001):

for the left wing, install 533AT 533CB
for the right wing, install 633AT 633CB.

D. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the safety barriers.
