A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable zone 540(640).

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the applicable areas for inspection.

B. General Visual Inspection of Outer Wing, Bottom Skin, Lower Surface at Drain Holes for Track Cans 1, 2, 3 and 4 (Rib Bays 1-2, 2-3, 4-5 and 5-6); Water Drain Hole (Rib Bay 1-2); Dry Bay Drain Hole in Rib Bay 6-7, Magnetic Level Indicator Holes at Rib Bay 1-2 and adjacent to Rib 6; MLG Pick Up Rail forward of Rear Spar inboard of Rib 5
(1) Do an inspection of the drain holes and make sure that:

there is no damage
there are no cracks
there is no corrosion
the paint finish is in the correct condition.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572000 for the correct repair procedure.

A. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
