Subtask 57-10-00-010-074-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Open the Main Landing-Gear (MLG) doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position in zone 190.
   (3) Remove the wing-to-fuselage fairings 191CT 192CT 191LB and 192LB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-000-001).
   (4) Remove the quick-release access panels 191BB 191EB 191KB 192EB 192FB 192KB 195AB and 196AB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-002).

B. Removal of the Components
   (1) Remove the air conditioning pack (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-41-000-001).
   (2) If installed, remove the vapor seal (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-000-001) and the heat shields.
   (3) Use a FLASHLIGHT for the inspection.

C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the surface of the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-10-00-220-057-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the structure on the lower face of the center wing box. This inspection is applicable from FR36 to FR42, between RIB1 left side and RIB1 right side below the vapor seal.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and corrective action.

B. Application of the Temporary Protection System
CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) TYPE 3 ON THE MOVABLE COMPONENTS. USE ONLY TPS TYPE 1 GRADE 2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE MECHANISMS WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
   (1) If there is a TPS layer, do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
NOTE: For the MPD task requirements for the surface finish, the operator can apply TPS or let the surface stay without protection.
     (a) If the TPS layer has local damage:
  • Remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001) on the inspection area.
     (b) If you used solvents, high-pressure water, steam and/or cleaning agents to clean the TPS layer:
  • Apply a full new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001) on the inspection area.
     (c) If it is not possible to make an estimate of the TPS layer condition:
  • Apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001) on the inspection area.
   (2) If there is no TPS layer, apply a new layer of Corrosion Preventive Compound_Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001) on the inspection area.

A. Installation of the Components
   (1) If removed, install the heat shields and the vapor seal (Ref. AMM TASK 28-13-42-400-001).
   (2) Install the air conditioning pack (Ref. AMM TASK 21-52-41-400-001).
Subtask 57-10-00-410-072-A
B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the wing-to-fuselage fairings 191CT 192CT 191LB and 192LB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-11-400-001).
   (3) Install the quick-release access panels 191BB 191EB 191KB 192EB 192FB 192KB 195AB and 196AB (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-002).
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Close the Main Landing-Gear (MLG) doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).
