Removal of the NLG Shock Absorber Assy (with nose jacking only)
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING:
PRESSURIZE ONLY THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) THAT IS (ARE) NECESSARY FOR THE TASK. ISOLATE THE OTHER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM(S) BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT. UNWANTED ELECTRICAL POWER CAN BE DANGEROUS.

(13) Removal of the shock absorber
(b) Slowly remove the shock absorber (10) from NLG leg.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE STRAPS AND THEIR PROTECTION, MAKE SURE THAT THE PARTS ARE CLEAN AND DRY. THIS IS TO PREVENT ABRASIVE EFFECTS ON THE PAINT.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU INSTALL THE STRAPS, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A BLISTER PACK BETWEEN EACH STRAP AND THE PART. THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE OR CHAFFING ON THE PAINT.
(1) Install the TROLLEY - LIFTING under the shock absorber (10). (2) Make sure the valve (1) is open.
(3) Fully compress the shock absorber (10).
NOTE: Some oil may bleed from the valve, connect it to a hose to collect it.
(4) Hold the shock absorber. CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU INSTALL THE STRAP BETWEEN THE HYDRAULIC PIPE AND THE STEERING ACTUATOR, AND NOT ON TOP OF THE PIPE. THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PIPE.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU INSTALL THE STRAPS, MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A BLISTER PACK BETWEEN EACH STRAP AND THE PART. THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE OR CHAFFING ON THE PAINT.
(a) Place a 1500 mm (59.06 in.) STRAP-RATCHET between the towing bar (42) and the steering actuator (41) as close as possible of the barrel to hold the shock absorber (10), then hang moderately the strap. NOTE: Position the strap near the barrel as much as possible to avoid side load to be transmitted to the steering actuator.

(6) Install and close the valve (1). (7) Installation of the strap
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A THIN, NON ABRASIVE FABRIC BETWEEN THE STRAP AND THE PART. THIS IS TO PREVENT DAMAGE OR CHAFFING ON THE PAINT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PLASTIC OR METALLIC "0 POSITION" INDICATOR. IF NECESSARY, REMOVE THE INDICATOR.
(a) Place the 735 mm (28.94 in.) STRAP - LIFTING around the turning tube (43). (8) Installation of the strap
