WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

(2) Remove the applicable access panels that follow:

Remove 540BB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(b) FOR [59QM] (HOUSING-MLI, R WING TK INR 2)
Remove 640BB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(c) FOR [60QM] (HOUSING-MLI, L WING TK INR 3)
Remove 540DB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(d) FOR [61QM] (HOUSING-MLI, R WING TK INR 3)
Remove 640DB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-43-21-020-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Magnetic Level-Indicator Assembly 56QM Thru 63QM, 200QM, 201QM, 208QM, 209QM 208QM, 209QM
(1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
(2) Remove the bolts (6) from the base (2).
(3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator (7) from the fuel tank.

NOTE: If the MLI is removed with a loose or damaged top-stop (8), refer to CMM 284330 for repair instructions.

(4) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (5).

Subtask 28-43-21-020-053-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Magnetic Level-Indicator Assembly 58QM Thru 63QM
(1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
(2) Remove the bolts (6) from the base (2).
(3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator (7) from the fuel tank.

NOTE: If the MLI is removed with a loose or damaged top-stop (8), refer to CMM 284330 for repair instructions.

(4) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (5).
