A. Safety Precautions

WARNING: BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in the position below the applicable zone 540(640).
(2) Remove the applicable access panel (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):

4. Procedure
Subtask 28-43-21-020-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Magnetic Level-Indicator Assembly 56QM thru 63QM
(1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
(2) Remove the bolts (6) from the base (2).
(3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator (7) from the fuel tank.

NOTE: If the MLI is removed with a loose or damaged top-stop (8), refer to CMM 284330 for repair instructions.

(4) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (5).

Subtask 28-43-21-020-051-D ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Magnetic Level-Indicator Assembly 58QM thru 63QM
(1) Remove the nuts (3) from the bolts (6).
(2) Remove the bolts (6) from the base (2).
(3) Remove the magnetic level-indicator (7) from the fuel tank.

NOTE: If the MLI is removed with a loose or damaged top-stop (8), refer to CMM 284330 for repair instructions.

(4) Remove and discard the O-rings (4) and (5).
