3. Job Set-up
Subtask 28-11-47-941-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) On refuel/defuel control panels 801VU and 800VU, fuel control panel 40VU and on ACT control panel 28VU:
     (a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to operate the fuel system.

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that access panels 197AB and 153AZ are removed to get access to the outer drain valve of ACT AFT1 (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-000-001).
   (2) Make sure that the water-drain-valve service panel is removed to get access to the outer drain valve of ACT AFT2.
4. Procedure
Subtask 28-11-47-420-059-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the new AIPC 28-11-47-10-020 PACKING (12).
   (4) Install the new
AIPC 28-11-47-10-020 PACKING (12) on the outer drain valve (13).
   (5) Apply a layer of Threadlocking Adhesive-- Low strength - (Material No.
05BAA1) on the thread of the outer drain valve (13).
   (6) For the drain tube assembly of ACT AFT1:
     (a) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.03FAB1) on the new AIPC 28-11-84-18-090 O-RING (2) and the new AIPC 28-11-84-18-100 O-RINGS (4).
   (7) For the drain tube assembly of ACT AFT2:
     (a) Apply a thin layer of Mineral Oil base Grease-- Vaseline or Petrolatum - (Material No.
03FAB1) on the new AIPC 28-11-84-18-090 O-RING (2) and the new AIPC 28-11-84-18-100 O-RINGS (4).
Subtask 28-11-47-420-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the ACT Outer Drain-Valve
NOTE: The subsequent procedure is the same for each ACT.
   (1) Make sure that the
98D28108559000 ADAPTER - TUBE, DRAIN VALVE is connected to the drain port (1).
   (2) Put the 98D28108558000 WRENCH - R-I DRAIN VALVE in the opening of the outer drain valve (13).
   (3) Put the outer drain valve (13) with the 98D28108558000 WRENCH - R-I DRAIN VALVE in the 98D28108559000 ADAPTER - TUBE, DRAIN VALVE.
   (4) Turn the 98D28108558000 WRENCH - R-I DRAIN VALVE to the clockwise direction and install the outer drain valve (13).
   (5) TORQUE the outer drain valve (13) to between 8.25 and 6.75 m.N (73.01 and 59.73 lbf.in ) T.
   (6) Remove the
98D28108559000 ADAPTER - TUBE, DRAIN VALVE from the aircraft.
   (7) Install the ACT water drain-tube (3):
     (a) Install the new O-ring (2) and the new O-rings (4) on the ACT water drain-tube (3).
     (b) Put the ACT water drain-tube (3) in the access hole of the drain port (1).
     (c) Push the ACT water drain-tube (3) in position.
     (d) Make sure that the ACT water drain-tube (3) is correctly attached to the drain port (1).
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE SPRING. THE TENSION IN THE SPRING CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
     (e) Put the compression spring (5) together with the flange (6) in position on the ACT water drain-tube (3).
     (f) Install the new AIPC 28-11-84-18-060 RETAINING RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-84-36-060 RETAINING RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-84-46-090 RETAINING RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-82-41-060 RETAINING RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-84-03-065 RETAINING RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-84-66-060 RETAINING RING (7) or AIPC 28-11-82-41-060 RETAINING RING (7) on the flange (6).
       1 Use a PLIERS - THIN NOSE to install the new retaining ring (7).
     (g) Install the spacer (9), bonding strap (8), washer (10) and the screw (11) to the aircraft structure.
     (h) Do the electrical bonding procedure (
Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).

D. Leak Test
   (1) Examine the outer drain valve (13) and the water drain valve for leaks.
   (2) Make sure that there are no leaks.
5. Close-up
Subtask 28-11-47-410-060-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) For the outer drain valve of ACT AFT1, install access panels 197AB and 153AZ on the lower fuselage (Ref. AMM TASK 53-35-13-400-001).
   (2) For the outer drain valve of ACT AFT2, install the water-drain-valve service panel on the lower fuselage.
Subtask 28-11-47-860-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) If installed, remove the safety barriers.
   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
