A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) around the aircraft to tell personnel that the fuel tanks are open.
(4) Do not use the purge-air system during electrical storms.
(5) The purge-air modules must be grounded before use.
(6) Only competent trained persons must operate all equipment contained within the purge-air modules in accordance with its manufacturer's instructions.
Subtask 28-10-00-860-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) You must obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work in a fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) around the aircraft to tell personnel that the fuel tanks are open.
(4) Do not use the purge-air system during electrical storms.
(5) The purge-air modules must be grounded before use.
(6) Only competent trained persons must operate all equipment contained within the purge-air modules in accordance with its manufacturer's instructions.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-001).
(4) Make sure that all the access platforms and related equipment(s) are electrically bonded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
(5) Disconnect the electrical ground power unit.
(6) Disconnect the aircraft batteries to isolate the aircraft electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001) but do not remove them.
(7) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-004).
Subtask 28-10-00-860-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-001).
(4) Make sure that all the access platforms and related equipment(s) are electrically bonded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
(5) Disconnect the electrical ground power unit.
(6) Disconnect the aircraft batteries to isolate the aircraft electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001) but do not remove them.
(7) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-004).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-001).
(4) Make sure that all the access platforms and related equipment(s) are electrically bonded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
(5) Disconnect the electrical ground power unit.
(6) Disconnect the aircraft batteries to isolate the aircraft electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001) but do not remove them.
(7) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
Subtask 28-10-00-010-056-A (1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(3) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-001).
(4) Make sure that all the access platforms and related equipment(s) are electrically bonded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
(5) Disconnect the electrical ground power unit.
(6) Disconnect the aircraft batteries to isolate the aircraft electrical power (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-000-001) but do not remove them.
(7) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable tank(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003), (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-005).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-005) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 6M (20 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
(2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-17-11-000-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-005) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

A. Purge and Vent the Fuel Tanks for Maintenance
(1) Drain the remaining fuel and vent the fuel tanks with the PRG002AKH UNIT, PURGE AIR - 1 AKH CONTAINER or PA1V1 PURGE AIR KIT:
5. Close-up(1) Drain the remaining fuel and vent the fuel tanks with the PRG002AKH UNIT, PURGE AIR - 1 AKH CONTAINER or PA1V1 PURGE AIR KIT:
NOTE: You can also use PRG224 (MODULAR PURGE AIR SYSTEM) as an alternative to the PA1V1 PURGE AIR KIT.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install all the access panels that you removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-005).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
Subtask 28-10-00-860-053-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install all the access panels that you removed (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-002), (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-005).
(3) Remove the access platform(s).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Connect the aircraft batteries (Ref. AMM TASK 24-38-51-400-001).

C. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(2) Remove the safety barriers.
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
