REMOVE XZ-LATCHES FOR DETAILED INSPECTION
NOTE: The XZ-latches are installed only in these cargo compartments which have a Cargo Loading System (CLS).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s).
(4) Set the light switch to on.
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panel(s) of the cargo loading system to tell persons not to use it.
Subtask 25-50-00-010-121-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).
(2) Open the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the opening of the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s).
(4) Set the light switch to on.
(5) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the control panel(s) of the cargo loading system to tell persons not to use it.
B. Get Access
(1) Remove each XZ-single latch 32 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-52-34-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Remove each XZ-single latch 32 (Ref. AMM TASK 25-52-34-000-001).
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the related proximity switch.
Subtask 25-50-00-200-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Detailed Inspection of the XZ-Single Latch 32
(1) Examine each latch for cracks, corrosion and other damage.
(2) Lift and lower the latching element on each latch to make sure that it moves freely.
(3) Lift the latching element on each latch to make sure that each latching element locks in the lifted position.
(4) Examine the tension springs of each latch for corrosion and other damage.
(5) Make sure that the tension springs of each latch are correctly attached.
5. Close-up(1) Examine each latch for cracks, corrosion and other damage.
(2) Lift and lower the latching element on each latch to make sure that it moves freely.
(3) Lift the latching element on each latch to make sure that each latching element locks in the lifted position.
(4) Examine the tension springs of each latch for corrosion and other damage.
(5) Make sure that the tension springs of each latch are correctly attached.

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Set the light switch to off.
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(6) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Set the light switch to off.
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
(5) Close the forward and/or aft cargo-compartment door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(6) De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
